Vonita was an avid gardener, receiving numerous awards from the Garden Club and the Coastal Carolina Fair for her floral arrangements. During her working years she worked numerous jobs in retail, floral designs and gardening centers, sometimes working two jobs to raise seven children.
She enjoyed collecting and making porcelain dolls and ceramics. Vonita loved to line dance and shag.
She is predeceased by her husband Junior L. Frazier, her daughter Karen Frazier Selvey, and her parents Drue and Ruby Pitts. Surviving are her children: John A. (Tony) Buchanan, Doris Annette Cox, of North Charleston, SC, Cynthia V. Nazario, of North Charleston, Debra L. Winn, and Michael J. Frazier (Charlene) both of Hollywood, SC, Shirley F. Tindall (Bill), of Columbia, SC; sisters and brother, Evelyn Seagraves, of Goose Creek, SC, June Brinson, of Beaufort, SC, Slylvia Michaud of Michigan, and Billy Pitts, of Charleston; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held, January 12, 2013 at one o'clock p.m. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, North Charleston. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
