Catherine "Kitty" Saltry, 94, a resident of the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, formerly of North Scranton, died Monday night at the home. Her husband, James D. Saltry, died Jan. 21, 2002.Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Myles and Nora Doyle Boyd, she was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School and was employed by Russell Stover Candies before retirement. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and its Women's Society, and the Providence Senior Citizens.She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.The family would like to thank all of the special angels who took care of her while at home, and also the entire staff at the Jewish Home. Surviving are a daughter, Kay Meila and husband, Willie, West Palm Beach, Fla.; a son, John Saltry and wife, Kathleen, Scranton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by a son, James P.; a grandson, James; 10 brothers and sisters.The funeral will be Friday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Cyril Edwards, pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends attending the funeral are asked to proceed directly to the church.Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Edward Knight O'Donnell Funeral Home, 323 William St., Scranton.
