SEPT. 23, 1934 — Nov. 2, 2011 HILLSDALE — Iris E. Brewer, 77, of Jonesville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born Sept. 23, 1934 in Newberry to Ernest & Erma (Lee) Major. She was married Nov. 8, 1955 to Donald Brewer and he preceded her in death Dec. 24, 2008. Iris retired from the State of Michigan. She was a graduate of Hillsdale High School in 1986 and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale. Surviving are four daughters, Lee (James) Barve of Quincy, Jolie (James) Graves and Jamie (Randy) Brooks, both of Jonesville, and Monique (Curt) Sarles of Hillsdale; son, Paul (Cammie) Brewer of Florida; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, George (Judy) Major of Newberry and Robert (Sue) Major of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Don. There will be a private family graveside memorial service for Iris Brewer at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy with Fr. Jeffrey Njus and Rev. Rob Stewart officiating.
