Mrs. Jean B. Bain

Amherst-Mrs. Jean S. Bain, 80, of 104 Idlewood Dr., died today at 12:10 a.m. in St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain after an illness of a week.

Mrs. Bain was born in Saltcoats, Scotland, Sept. 6, 1879 and had lived in Amherst 48 years, coming from Scotland. She was a member of the Amherst Congregational Church, the Daughters of Scotland and Daughters of Scotia.

Mrs. Bain was preceded in death by her husband John. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ashley Slack, Brownhelm, Mrs. Carl Becker, Amherst, Mrs. Jean Reamer, Lorain and Mrs. Joseph Salage, Monterey Park, Calif.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Callen, New York City, and Thomas Callen, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie McKay, New York City.

Friends will be received at the Garland Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Elinor Galusha will officiate assisted by the Rev. F.E. Eastman.

Burial will be in the family lot in Crownhill Cemetery.
