Sidney Robert Vassar, 39, died at his home in Esmont, Va., on Thursday, Sept. 26th. The body was brought to this county, and the funeral, held from Virginia Presbyterian church, Pico, was conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, by Rev G C Crowell, pastor. Interment was in Fairview cemetery, Buchanan.
The deceased is survived by his wife and six children; his father, four brothers and four sisters. He was a man held in high esteem and for years was a valued employee of the Blue Ridge State Corp., of Esmont; an elder in the Presbyterian Church, and a member of Masonic Blue Lodge, No 127, Arvonia, Va.
