Pioneer Resident Dies At Elyria

Amherst. Jan 23. - Perry Barber, 78 years of age, formerly a resident of Cleveland avenue, Amherst, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Notley, 345 Oxford avenue, Elyria, with whom he had made his home for the past few years.

Besides Mrs. Notley, the deceased is survived by another daughter, Miss Lillian, who resides at the home on Cleveland avenue, Amherst, three sons, William H., Amherst, Charles, Lakewood and Nelson J., Cleveland; one grandson, Richard Notley, Elyria, two sisters, Mrs. Frank Johnson, Cleveland, Mrs. Julius Roughton, Lorain.

Mr. Barber was affiliated with Stonington Lodge No. 530 F. and A.M., Amherst, and also of the chapter, council, and a Knight Templar, Lorain, and of the Shriners, Cleveland. For 27 years Mr. Barber served as a member of the Amherst Board of Public Affairs and served in the community as a member of the Board of Education and village council.

Funeral rites will be held from the Zilch Funeral Home here the body was brought, at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. R.C. Jensen, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will be made at the family lot in Crownhill cemetery. The Masonic order will conduct services at the grave.
