Miss Hattie M. Steele

Miss Hattie M. Steele, 75, former teacher in the Lorain public school system for 45 years, died today at 12:30 a.m. at Lorain Community Hospital after an illness of two weeks.

Miss Steele had taught at Fairhome School and Irvin Junior High School. A lifelong resident of Lorain, she lived at 308 Iowa Ave.

Miss Steel was a graduate of Kent State University and Columbia University, New York City. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Lorain.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Sadie) Dick of Amherst and a brother Frank Steele of Lorain.

Friends will be received tomorrow from 2 to 4 to 7 to 9 p.m. at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, Lorain, where the funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ernest L. Stone officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
