Amherst-Miss Louise Christina Schmitkons, 83, a lifelong resident of Amherst Township, died today at 3 a.m. in her home at 605 Foster Park rd., Lorain after an illness of a year and a half.
Miss Schmitkons was born in Amherst Township July 20, 1879. She attended Oberlin Academy and Oberlin College and was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church and the D.D. Club.
Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Adelaide Hall, Lorain; a brother, G. Henry Schmitkons, Amherst; seven nephews and five nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, William H Schmitkons.
Friends will be received in the Garland Funeral Home after 2 p.m. tomorrow. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Gail Bergstresser will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Crownhill Cemetery.
