Funeral service for Sharlene C. Brown, 77, S. Flamingo Drive Holly Hill who passed away Tuesday, will be held Saturday January 12, 2013 at 2:30 pm at First Baptist Church 118 N. Palmetto Ave Daytona Beach with Rev. Louis Lucas officiating. Internment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Friends wishing to call and pay their respects may do so Saturday from 1:30 until the time of service at the church. Mrs. Brown was born in Sanford, Florida and moved to Ormond Beach in elementary school. She graduated from Seabreeze High School, class of 1953, and formerly worked as a dental assistant. For many years Sharlene was the day care director at First Baptist Church of Holly Hill and after becoming a member of First Baptist Church, Daytona Beach she was a childrens' church leader. Children held a special place in her heart and spending time with her family was always cherished. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Edward; two daughters, Shalaina Brown, Burlington, Iowa and Shannan Brown Macias, Dallas, TX; three sons, Kevin Brown, Holly Hill, Darren Brown and Shawn Brown both of Ormond Beach; two brothers, Tony Corn and Ronald Corn both of Ormond Beach; three sisters, Teri Smith, South Dakota, Sondria K. Ellzey and Katherien Sandlin; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of other remembrances the family requests donations to Vitas Hospice, 2381 Mason Ave Ste 100, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
