Mable Henry 95 of Montezuma passed away at the GRMC in Grinnell. Interment will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
Mable Bernice Ahlsclager was born the fourth of five children to Henry and Della Mahaffey Ahlsclager in Barnes City, Iowa. She was a 1934 graduate of Barnes City High School.
On October 16, 1937, Mable was united in marriage to Sydney Wymore in Muscatine, Muscatine County, Iowa. They lived in the Wichita area for 20 years before moving back to Montezuma. Mable worked at a dime store, a jacket factory, a grocery store and babysat when needed. Sid preceded her in death on March 3, 1964 after 27 years of marriage. Mable was then married to Lauren Henry on March 20, 1976 in Mt. Pleasant, Henry County, Iowa.
Mable and Lauren wintered in Donna, Texas for 18 years. They also took many bus trips together and enjoyed traveling. He passed away on January 18, 2008.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church for 35 years, the VFW Auxiliary of Montezuma for 23 years, The American Legion Auxiliary of Montezuma for 60 years and the Rebecca Lodge for 52 years.
