As a single man without dependents, Joe H. Snell enlisted in the US Army on 2 Aug 1944. After training he apparently was assigned to the US Army Company C 129th Infantry. Whether he was injured state side, or became disabled overseas, I don't know and I've not be able to find anything on his disability. However his application for a headstone by his father Herbert Lee Snell, there is one number that indicates he was disabled. That is his Pension number, indicating he was drawing a pension. All this happened in less than a year.
He enlisted on 2 Aug 1944 and died 22 Apr 1945, about 9 months.
