Eugenia Andrews, 92, of El Dorado, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.


She was born Dec. 22, 1916, in Texarkana, to Clarence Eugene Oates and Alice Zachary Oates. Eugenia was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross and the Hospital Auxiliary.


Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Keith R. Andrews; and a brother, Dr. Charles Ernest Oates.


Survivors include two daughters, Keitha (Bert) Estes of Landenberg, Pa., and Karen Fitzhugh of Chapel Hill, N.C.; four grandchildren, Alan (Monica) Estes of Avondale, Pa., Chris Estes of Owings, Md., Sydney (David) Culp of Durham, N.C., and Dr. David (Karen) Fitzhugh of Durham; and eight great-grandchildren.


Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Father Chuck Chapman officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Columbarium under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
