Robert Eugene Gandley, 74, of Monongahela, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born Tuesday, June 29, 1937, in Monongahela, the son of the late Robert Emmett and Margaret Cirinelli Gandley. Robert received a degree in business administration from Robert Morris University. He then went on to receive his degree in teaching from California University of Pennsylvania, and received his master's degree from West Virginia University. Up until 19 years ago, he had taught elementary education for the Elizabeth Forward School District. He was an avid fly knot tyer and fisherman, he also loved to read, hunt, and collect many interesting items and antiques. He is survived by his wife, Martha Peake Gandley, with whom he celebrated 47 years of marriage on Sept. 4, 2011; a son, Robert E. Gandley and his wife, Julie, of Girard, Pa.; daughter, Robin E. Gandley and her husband, David Figucia, of Gibsonia; grandchildren, Jacob and Maria Figucia, and Robert and James Gandley; sister, M. Joy Bellicini and her husband, John, of Monongahela; and four nieces and nephews.
