Norma G. Brewer, 88, of Kahoka, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Keokuk Area Hospital.

Born March 12, 1924, in Wyaconda, Mo., she was the daughter of James B. and Lolita Wolfmeyer Collins. On Feb. 10, 1945, she married Lawrence Romaine Brewer in Mineral Wells, Texas. He died March 11, 1990.

Mrs. Brewer graduated from Revere, Mo., High School in 1942, and acquired additional education prior to becoming a teacher in rural Clark County, Mo., schools. She was a homemaker and after her children were grown, worked for John Beckert, retiring from his medical clinic.

She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kahoka and attended revivals and Bible studies, one which met in her home each week.

She enjoyed sharing the gospels with fellow believers, quilting and being inspired by music. She especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Joe Brewer of Kahoka; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son and her parents.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka during regular hours today and Friday. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Bible Baptist Church in Kahoka.

The funeral for Mrs. Brewer will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Glen Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for St. Jude Children's Hospital and Calvary Hill Girls Home.
