Marian Alta Humphrey
ASHTABULA - Marian A. Humphrey, 81, of 1415 W 6th St. died Wednesday in Cleveland Clinic Hospital.
She was born April 30, 1907, in Ashtabula, a daughter of the late Edward Alfred and Adela (Donahue)Brooks, a pioneer Ashtabula family. She was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Humphrey was employed by Carlisle's in the drapery department prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mary Stanley Chapter; the Mayflower Society; and was treasurer of the Civic Garden Club, Ashtabula's oldest garden club.
She was a member of the Prospect Presbyterian Church and Lydia circle of the church.
Survivors include a son, William Edward, and a daughter Joyce C. Williams, both of Ashtabula; a sister, Mabel Wirth of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C.; four sisters, Margarette Collier, Wilda Griggs, Juanita Kelley and Adela Fry; and a brother, Ray Brooks.
A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at the family gravesite in Chesnut Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Kevin Horrigan of Prospect Presbyterian Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Prospect Presbyterian Church.
Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
