Clifford Jesse Goolsby was born in 1903 to Herman Jesse Goolsby and Theolina "Lena" O. Hendrickson, daughter of Michael and Theolina Hendrickson, who immigrated to Rockford, Illinois in 1868-1869 from Norway. Herman died in Coffey County, where the Goolsbys first setlled in Kansas. Lena moved into Hutchinson, KS in her later years (I'm currently trying to find her burial site). Clifford's paternal grandparents were Jesse Goolsby (# 100109809)and Sarah Jane DeWitt-Goolsby (#87471909). He had a brother, Ralph and a sister, Gertrude (#104439143). He married my grandmother, Fern Charlene Curless and had five children, three of whom died in infancy. My mother is his only surviving child. Clifford and Fern divorced and he remarried Lula May Skinner-Groves, who's first husband was Roy Pearl Groves (#104439320). Grandpa Clifford died in Hutchinson, Kansas on September 28, 1987, just a few months after Lula did in April.
