Issac Alexander "Shorty" Toland, aged 81, of Marianna, formerly of Arkadelphia; died Friday, Nov. 23, in the Lee Co., Memorial Hospital. A native of Crandel, Texas, he was a retired farmer and furniture repairman.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Lois Armstrong Toland; two sons, James Thomas Toland of Marianna and Jessie Toland of Hot Springs; seven daughters, Miss June Toland of Marianna, Mrs Jean Johnston of South Gate, CA, Mrs Jane Cason of Friendship, Mrs. Addie Wilson and Mrs. Essie Brown both of Arkadelphia, Mrs. Vada Brown of Hot Springs and Mrs. Dorothy Collins of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Linnie Conkle of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs Rettie Conkle of Washington; thirty-two grandchildren and thirty eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Kemper officiating. Burial was in Golden Cemetery.
