Bobby G. Withers (Robert or Bob) was born in Pulaski County, Dixon, Missouri on October 18, 1928. He was one of six children born to James Riley and Evelyn Pearl Withers, and passed away January 7, 2013. He was 84.

He was united in marriage to Patricia Elaine Brumley in Springfield, MO on June 22, 1956, and to this union three sons and one daughter was born.

He leaves in passing his wife Patricia of the home, three sons: John and wife Marcy, Craig, Robert D. and wife Ginger, all of Springfield. He leaves as well one daughter Deanne and husband Rob Gregor of California. He also leaves eight grandchildren: Riley, Eli, Samuel, Sara, Anna and Rachel Withers and Hosanna and Joshua Gregor.

After enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1950 during the Korean War, Bob spent a full tour of duty in Tachikawa, Japan. He took special pride reflecting on when he was chosen to serve on General Douglas McArthur's honor guard in Tokyo in 1951. He was honorably discharged in Spokane, Washington after four years of service. He then worked for Northwest Airlines and completed the necessary credit hours to gain a Master of Accounts degree at Kinman University.

Bob came to Springfield in 1955 and started his real estate career where in 1958 he opened his own real estate brokerage business. He developed dozens of sub-divisions and built many residential and commercial properties. He was active in charitable clubs, Board of Realtors, one of the first presidents of Springfield Multilist Service and board member and president of Twin Oaks Country Club. He loved to play golf but his favorite hobby was writing gospel songs. He also loved to paint and has spent many hours painting beautiful landscapes.

Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at High Street Baptist Church and was baptized there in 1955. He was very loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 from 1 to 2 pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Cemetery.
