Councilman Paul Thomas "Tom" Wall

Biloxi, MS ~ Paul Thomas "Tom" Wall, 73, died of cancer January 7, 2013, at Ocean Springs Hospital, one day short of his 74th birthday.

Tom, who had served almost 20 years on the Biloxi City Council, was a native of Indianapolis, Ind., but chose the Mississippi Gulf Coast as his permanent home the first time he drove down highway 90.

A retired U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, Tom was devoted to his adopted home and to his family. He was a past president of the Biloxi City Council and the Edgewater Rotary Club and had served on the boards of the American Red Cross, the Biloxi Bay Chamber and the Leadership Board of the Boy's and Girl's Clubs of the Gulf Coast. He was a member of many other local groups and had worked tirelessly to help the entire Gulf Coast recover from Katrina.

He began his business career before he officially retired from the Air Force and currently was owner and president of Classy Chassis Car Wash(s).

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Roger Wall and Dorothy King of Indianapolis; sisters, Susie Martin and Phyllis Phillips, both of Indianapolis, Betty McCammon of Mooresville, Ind.; and a brother, Carl King of D'Iberville.

Survivors include, his wife of 54 years, Arlene Wall of Biloxi; sons, Bob (Paige) Wall of Biloxi and Jeff (Cynthia) Wall of Flowood; grandchildren, Jheri (Wesley) Bretchel, Hailey Wall, Cassidy Wall and Charlie Wall, all of Biloxi; a great-grandson, Nolan Bretchel of Biloxi; sisters, Helen (Earnie) Rich and JoAnn (Johnny) Marion, of Indianapolis, and Frances (Arthur) Day of Mooresville, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.

To commemorate Tom's passion for serving his community, the family requests donations be made to one of his favorite non-profit organizations or a charity of your choice. His favorites included the Rotary Club of Edgewater, the Boy's and Girl's Clubs of the Gulf Coast, the Gulf Coast Rescue Mission, The American Red Cross Gulf Coast Chapter, The George Ohr Museum, the Seafood Museum, the Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast Command and the Biloxi Bay Chamber

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and on Friday, January 11, 2013 from noon until 1:00 p.m. with a 1:00 p.m. service all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
