Found in The State 21 January 1969: Mrs. Evelyn Robertson Lyles, 79, widow of Joseph Berry Sloan Lyles, former Columbia attorney, died Monday in Columbia Hospital. A native of Columbia she was a daughter of the late Edwin W. and Evelyn Perkins Robertson. Mrs. Lyles was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Surviving are a son, Dr. William S. Lyles of Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Edward B. Cantey of Columbia, and Mrs. Vasis Hwoschinsky of Greenwich, Conn., and a brother, Thomas J. Robertson of Columbia. Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. William Rose.
