Edna Earle,6 year old daughter of Mr.and Mrs.E.E.Cowan,died in the is city last Sunday morning about 6 o'clock.She was taken sick on Thursday, but her condition was not considered serious until early Sunday morning.when fever ran up to 108.Tenderly prepared by loving hands for burial rites,the casket was carried through the country to
Forest Home in Butler Co.or interment,accompanied by Mr.Cowan,Rev.B. D.Dismuke of Rutledge,Rev.Henry T.Johnson of Boling, Messrs L.S. Knight,J.L.Hawkins & Herbert Knight of this place. Mrs.Cowan was too ill to make the trip. (The Gleaner-July 08,1898)

Edna Earle Cowan, little daughter of Rev. & Mrs. E. E. Cowan, died Sunday in Luverne during the session of the District Conference. She had been ill a long time. Burial was at Forest Home.
