He was born in Cleveland July 24, 1916 and married the former Dorothy Bensel. He moved to Atlanta seven years ago after retiring from his post as a police detective in Detroit. He served as second engineer on the Str. S. T. Crapo and also sailed on the Str. John G. Munson after his retirement.
Mr. Heft is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a son, Arthur of Fenton; two daughters, Mrs. William Britcher (Marlene) of Canton and Mrs. Gary Gawel (Bonita) of Herron; six grandchildren; and two brothers, Clarence of Texas and Robert of California.
Funeral Service is set Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Atlanta, the Rev. Raymond Prough officiating.
Interment will be in the Wolf Creek Cemetery.
