Mr. Fritsche was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Jacob to Arthur and Meta A. (Miesner) Fritsche. He married Carolyn Dierks June 25, 1960, in West Point, and she survives.
Melvin served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1971. He was a member of B.B.K. American Legion Post 480, and Teamsters Local in St. Louis.
He was the retired owner of Town and Country Florist in Campbell Hill.
Mr. Fritsche was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
