Palis Pennington, 92, of 205 Lancaster Street, Stanford, died January 27 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
A native of Lincoln County, he was born June 21, 1900 to the late Claborne Pennington and Margaret Higgins Pennington. He was a member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church and widower of Mary E. Gover Pennington.
Survivors include three sons, Robert R. Pennington of Harrodsburg, Lindsay Pennington and William Pennington of Stanford; three daughters, Margaret Cooper of Stanford, Alberta Caldwell of Cincinnati, OH, and Ida Barbour of Benecia, CA; two brothers,, John Frank Pennington of Albuquerque, NM, and Jesse J. Pennington of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Mattie P. Hayes of Cincinnati, Florence Smith of Covington and Anna Masterson of Stanford; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the First Baptist Church in Stanford with Rev. William H. Ewing as Minister and Rev. Fred Williams as Master of Ceremonies. Burial was in Pennington Cemetery in Stanford. Fox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
