Richard H. Koehler, 90, Richard H. Koehler, 90, of Drexel Hill PA. Died peacefully at Harlee Manor Nursing Home and Rehab. On January 6, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Richard was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the U.S Army Company B 733rd Railway Operating Battalion. He once saluted General George S. Patton when the general was inspecting troop and supply trains to be used at the Battle of The Bulge.
Richard also loved model trains and took pride in his own model train layout. He loved all types of cars and loved to watch sports. Richard was a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. When he retired he served for many years as a crossing guard in his neighborhood. Richard was a member of the Springfield-Hanby Masonic Lodge.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory of Philadelphia. Richard was the beloved son of the late William and Beulah Koehler (Nee Hicks). He was predeceased by his brother William Koehler of Plymouth MN. Survivors: his beloved wife Marilyn (nee Kennedy) of 64years. Loving father of Richard and Joseph Koehler of Drexel Hill.
And brother of Mrs. Anne Kennard of Newark DE. Services: Family and friends are invited to Richard's Life Celebration, Friday morning after 9:00am, Spencer T. Videon Funeral Home, 400 Shadeland Ave. Drexel Hill PA. Followed by a Religious Service at 10:30am. Interment: Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Rd., Roslyn PA. In lieu of flowers Contributions can be made to The Grace Evangelical Luthern Church, School Ln. and Edmonds Ave., Drexel Hill PA. 19026 In Memory of Richard H. Koehler are preferred.
