Fern was born in Silver Creek, Nebraska, on May 24, 1922. She married Leonard J. Ryan of Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1942 and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1981.
She was a registered nurse who graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital of Nursing in 1942. She worked most recently for Drs. Racsa and Manaloto in Pasco.
Fern was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for 31 years and was faithful to a holy hour in support of the 24-hour adoration at St. Patrick's Parish.
She is survived by two brothers: Robert George and wife Connie of Pasco, Washington; Merle George and wife Gloria of Boise, Idaho; her daughter: Linda K. Ryan of Santee, California; two grandchildren: Michelle Thomason of Kodiak, Alaska; and Shawn Ward and wife Davilynn of League City, Texas; four great-grandchildren: Gary Gass, Alex Ward, Jeffrey Gass, Ellen Weaver; nieces and nephews, and many friends.
The viewing will be at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home on Sunday, August 29, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010, with the burial immediately following at Riverview Heights Cemetery in Kennewick, Washington.
