Annie Sue (Rowell) Barnett was born on January 30, 1935 in Lee County, Alabama, the daughter of Willie Nunnally "Teny" Rowell (1911–1994) and Mae Jewell (Adcox) Rowell (1909–1990).

She was married about 1953 to US Army veteran Lyndon Renee Barnett (1931–2008), and he was the son of Agnes Adelia (Nixon) (Barnett) Beck (1916–1991) and her 1st husband Bernard Marshall Barnett (1911–1972).

Annie was a member of Bell Buckle Baptist Church and the mother of four "Army Brats". Living in Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tennessee at the home of her daughter, she was 77 years old and formerly of Pikeville, Tennessee when she died October 30, 2012 after an extended illness.

Preceded in death by her husband, son Roger Dale Barnett and by her brother Billy Rowell, she was survived by a daughter, two married sons, two sisters and a brother-in-law, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services were held on October 31st in Dunn Cemetery in Pikeville, Tennessee.
