Funeral services for Mr. J. C. Arduser, who passed away Monday, June 29, were held Friday afternoon, with the Rev. William L. Krengel in charge. A brief service was conducted at the house in Marion at 1:30 p.m., land 2 p.m. a service was held in St. John's Lutheran Church, with was attended by a large audience. The pastor based his sermon on I Thessalonians 4:13 to 18. The Misses Janet Bubach and Gloria Haseleu sang "Abide With Me," "Asleep in Jesus", and "Peace, My Peace I Leave unto You."
The body was laid to rest in Lake View Cemetery, west of Marion.
Pallbearers were the grandsons of the deceased: John, Harley and Allen Anderson, Connie Paulson, and Bernard and Eldred McCleary. Honorary pallbearers were: Cyrus Danuser, James Hurley, Dewey Baertsch, Nick Schommer, Henry Bruhschwein, William Piehl, Alwin Glaser, and john Olson.
John C. Arduser was born June 25, 1871, at Fountain City, Wisc., where he attended elementary school and grew to manhood. At the age of 21, Mr. Arduser came to the Marion community, and was united in marriage to Margaret Bayasch at Valley City, N. Dak. Mr. and Mrs. Arduser made their home on a farm west of Marion. There Mr. Arduser lived until 1927, when he retied and moved his home to Marion, where he lived until the day of his death.
Mr. Arduser had been very active in Civic affairs. He had served three terms as State Representative, twelve years as LaMoure County Welfare Board. He had been president and director of the Adrian State Bank, and at the time of his death was president of the State Bank of Marion and of the Equity Elevator.
Mrs. Arduser passed away June 11, 1944. On September 16, 1945 he married Olga Ritter of Marion.
Mr. Arduser was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in St. John's Lutheran Church on August 4, 1946. On September 30, 1946, he was received into voting membership with St. John's Lutheran Church.
Mr. Arduser passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital at Oakes, N.D., Monday evening, June 29, after being a patient there for ten days and he had been in very poor health for some time. He attained the age of 82 years and 4 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure: his wife, Mrs. Olga Arduser; two sons: Conrad A. Arduser and Leonard Arduser, both of Marion: seven daughters: anna (Mrs. Carl Anderson), Marion: Celia (Mrs. Nelson) Linden, J.J.; Margaret (Mrs. Fred Paulson), Minneapolis, Minn.; Stella (Mrs. John Hohmann), Areadien, Wisc.; Alber (Mrs. Clayton Paulson, Marion; Luella (Mrs. Ward McCleary), Marion: Verna (Mrs. Donald Bixby), Minneapolis, Minn.
He also leaves 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
