Robert emigrated to Ohio where he reared a large family--Source: Edward Pickens Kirkland.
Robert moved to TN when still young and there married Jane Long. They lived in TN until after the birth of their 8th child. In 1828 they moved to IL.--

In IL their place was called "Kirkland Grove." Robert had lived in Marion County, TN. Settlement of Estate--Box B-3). Kirkland Grove was in Montgomery County, IL
Nancy: Mrs. Garrison had a large family. Her children and Robert's nine children had excessive differences making life so uncomfortable that the couple mutually agreed to separate (divorce ?). Mrs. Garrison and her children (with the exception of one) went to TX.
