Funeral Services for Lewis E. Staley, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Key-McCabe Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Knight, pastor of Southside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Orange Hill Cemetery, Hawkinsville, Ga., with committal services at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Staley, who lived at 1236 Monterey St., died Friday night in a local Hospital. He was born in Mont Alto, Pa., and had lived in Jacksonville 22 years. He was a Baptist and a former president of the Mont Alto, Pa. Bank; was former secretary of forest and waters of Pa.; former state forester of South Carolina; and was formerly associated with the Florida Forest Service and the U.S. Forest Service, Washington, D.C. He retired from the National Container Co. 10 years ago as assistant manager of the Woods Department. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Betty Markert Staley of Jacksonville; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Sutliff of Harrisburg, Pa.; four sons, Lawrence M. Staley of Sumter, S.c.; Edwin C. Staley, Robert A. Staley and Gerald C. Staley, all of Harrisburg, Pa.; a sister, Miss Addie Staley of Mont Alto, Pa.; and a brother, Harry Staley of Waynesboro, Pa.
