COLLEEN JUNE (Knapp)Utt, July 7, 1928 - December 3, 2004.

Colleen June Utt, 76, of College Place, WA, died Dec. 3, 2004 at her home. Memorial service was Sat., Dec. 11, 2004 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel in Vancouver, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Blue Mountain Humane Society through Colonial-DeWitt Funeral Home.

Mrs. Utt was born July 7, 1928 in Vancouver, WA to Ira Verle and Verna Mae Reese Knapp. On June 20, 1948 she married Theodore (Ted) Paul Utt in Battle Ground, WA. After marrying, the couple moved to Loma Linda, California where her husband attended and graduated from Loma Linda University Medical School in 1953.

The couple lived in Portland area during her husband's over 40-year medical career. In 2002 they moved to College Place, WA to be nearer to family as she was already suffering from the symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease.

She was known as a seamstress (tailoring and upholstering) from a very young age. She also enjoyed quilting and knitting. She was also known for her flower gardens and her yard. She was an incredible mother, loving and caring for her children and she also enjoyed housekeeping. She was a member of the Walla Walla College Church of Seventh-day Adventists in College Place.

She died a peaceful death in her own home in her own bed, having visited with each of her five children; three at her bedside at her time of death and with her beloved dog Bobby (a Westie), curled up on the bed beside her.

She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband at home; three sons, Rick Utt, AIA of Edmonds, WA, Terrill Utt, MD, of Lakewood, WA, and Thomas Utt, DDS, of College Place; two daughters, Kathleen Morgan of Beaverton, Oregon, and Penelope (Peni) Cockrel of Paducah, Kentucky; a sister, Donna Lindsay of Tualatin, OR; and eleven grandchildren.
