1Thes: 4 & Phill: 4: Aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, so that you may walk properly before outsiders. As I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. Jimmie A. Powell, 76, of St. Marys, WV, went to heaven to be with is Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with his wife Judith Woody Powell on January 6, 2013 at his residence. He was born, September 29, 1936 on the family farm, known as the Squire Wagner Family Farm in Arvilla, WV. He was the son of the late LeVaughn and Genevieve Wagner Powell. He was a 1955 graduate of St. Marys High School, a Pipefitter, and a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Marys. Jimmie was also a member of Parkersburg Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #565, and a member of St. Marys Lodge #41 A. F. & A. M.

Survivors include four sons, Jeff (Suzanne) Powell, Jim (Kathi) Powell, Joe (Amy) Powell, and Jay (Susan) Powell; six grandchildren, Emily, Ashley, Caroline, Luke, Callie, and Claire; two brothers, Dick and Max Powell; one sister, Carman Estep; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Jim was known to his six grandchildren as "Babaw" and to his four sons as "dad." Jim was a man that preferred to express his love to his family through actions as opposed to words. Whether it was overtime work to pay for four sons to go to college, or fixing things around the different family member's houses, or making playhouses for the grandchildren, or providing and caring for his wife for the last several years of her life –he loved his family and expressed it in so many different ways. Although he will be greatly missed, we ask you to celebrate with the family the greatest miracle known to man, which is the promise of Eternal Life for those who accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

Services will be 12:00 noon Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys. Interment will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday from 11 to 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Good Hope Baptist Church, 135 Road Run Road, St. Marys, WV 26170.
