Robert F. "Bob" King, 63, of Wann, died at 8:40 A.M on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in the Noxie area of Nowata County with Rev. Rick Lumm officiating. Interment will be in the Robbins Cemetery near Dearing, Kansas where full military rites will be accorded by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105. Funeral services will be directed by the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.
The King family will receive guests for visitation at the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 P.M. until 7:30 P.M.
Mr. King was born in rural Coffeyville, Kansas on May 25, 1949 to Harry Ray King and Winifern Gracie Allene (Miller) King. He grew up in the rural Wann area and graduated from Wann High School in 1968. He entered the United States Army on February 5, 1969 and served in Viet Nam and received his active duty discharge in 1971 and his Honorable Discharge February 1, 1975. He was married to Judy Perkins on March 19, 1971 at Miami, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Wann area since that time. Mr. King was employed at Automotives Control in Independence, Kansas which later became Standard Motors Products from which he retired as a stock clerk in March 2010. Mr. King enjoyed woodworking, fishing, NASCAR races, hunting morel mushrooms and he enjoyed time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Judy King of the home, three sons, Bradley David King of Bartlesville, Steven Eugene King of Coffeyville, Kansas and James Robert King of Wann, two brothers, Billy Ray King and Harry Eugene King both of Wann, two sisters, Sandra Kay Harris of Wann and Nancy Jane Killough of Delaware, Okla. and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
