June 26, 1959 - Jan 4, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY January 4, 2013, was a very sad day for family members and friends of Lisa Kathryn (Burns) Heinen. After a sudden and brief illness, Lisa passed from this life at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. A loving mother, daughter, and friend, Lisa was born on June 26, 1959, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Lisa graduated from Putnam City High School in 1977. She then attended OSU for two years, where she met many wonderful lifetime friends/sisters as a member of Tri Delta Sorority. She continued her fellowship, charitable work, and, of course, OSU football games and parties right up to the end of her life. Lisa then transferred to the OU Health Sciences Center and graduated with a degree in dental hygiene in 1981. This gave her the opportunity to have a job she enjoyed for over thirty years. Lisa is survived by her parents, Elverta and Bob Burns; and her son, Brice Chandler Heinen, who was the love of her life. She was so proud of Brice's many achievements in sports and academics, which included graduating with a doctoral degree in physical therapy, but mostly she admired him for his great character and his loyalty to family and friends. Lisa often asked the question, "How did I ever get so lucky to have a son like Brice?" Lisa leaves behind a plethora of family members and friends, who are all devastated at her sudden, unexpected passing. Gary Heinen, Mark and Dee Ready, Jim and Kathy Heinen, John and Barbara Heinen, Lynn and Gabe Heinen, and Gerald and Mary Ann Heinen are just a few who loved her and will miss her. Jim and Mary Burns, Leland and Bernice Burns, Mickey and Janet Burns, Judy Wood, Philip and Debbie Hills, Mary O'Neil, Charles and Barbara O'Neil, and many other members of the Hills and Burns families are also grieving the loss of Lisa in their lives. Lisa had too many friends to list all of them. One whom she would surely want mentioned is her lifetime friend, Deidre Glidden. All of her friends are shocked and saddened by the reality that they will no longer be sharing golf games, scuba diving, trips to the lake, Bible studies, movies, dinners, plays, OSU games, and so on. They know they will miss her great sense of humor, feisty jokes and behaviors, but understand they will mostly miss her loving and caring nature, kindness, generosity, and her wonderful smile. Evening prayer vigil will be held on Monday, January 7th at 7 p.m. in the Vondel L. Smith Mortuary Chapel, 13125 N. MacArthur in Oklahoma City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 8th at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church, located at 8005 Dorset Drive in Oklahoma City. Interment will follow the Mass at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7801 Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City.
