Son of Samuel Cutler Burdick and wife 1 Susan Jones 1827-1851.She died shortly after his birth. Samuel married Harriet Bennet[my great great grandparents] and she was the only mother he ever knew. Ben had one natural sister Leah, who is buried next to him in Beverwyck. His half brother John W Burdick accross from him and Harriet Burdick Millis to the rear, with her 2nd husband Danforth Millis and her daughter Helen Burdick Brown. Father of Ernest Burdick buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Benjamin served in the 7th Cavalry, Co A, under Myles Moylan. Although he did not see action at Little Big Horn he was on detached service at either Powder River Depot or Fort Abraham Lincoln. Thanks to Charlott Jones for this update.
