Obituary of the Late Francis Luther Roberts
Francis Luther Roberts, son Burrell and Alzada Roberts, was born October 30, 1867, and departed this life December 25, 1938, at his home in Macon, being 71 years, 1 month and 25 days of age. He was married to Anna Maude Terrill on April 3, 1895, and to this union six sons were born, Reuben, Chester, Hubert, and Lloyd having preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted wife and two sons, Wilbert of South of Macon, J. T., of Macon, four grandchildren and one brother , Tom, of South of Callao. When quite young he united with the Antioch Christian Church and remained a faithful member until his death. He had been in ill health for a number of years, however bedfast only a short time. He was a patient sufferer through the yeas,ever thinking of others less fortunate than himself. He was a devoted husband, a kind and loving father and grandparent and a good neighbor.
This family has been sorely tried, having lost two sons in mine disasters, and a sister of Mr. Roberts just recently, besides numerous other losses, but through it all they have been brave and held steadfastly to their hope in God. Funeral services were conducted at one o'clock on Tuesday afternoon at the First Christian Church of Macon, by the pastor the Rev. Alfred Munyon and burial was made in Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of Stephens & Gooding.
