Hilmer C. HANSON, formerly of 124 Aldren Avenue, Jamestown, NY, died at 11:25 a.m. Friday, MArch 18, 1983 in the Lawson Care Center. Prior to his retirement 23 years ago he was employed by the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities. A lifelong city resident, he was born in Jamestown October 31, 1894, son of Nels and Augusta Hanson. He was a veteran of World War I , serving in the U. S. Army in France. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church , Earl A. Morley Barracks Veterans of World War I, and American Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois McCullough of Frewsburg and Phyllis Wood of Howard Avenue West Ellicott, four grandchildren,Susan Post of Warren, PA, David McCullough of Jamestown, Kathryn Neubauer of Ashville and Linda Allen of Frewsburg, five great-grandchildren and a sister, Florence Thierfeldt of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary C. Jensen, on Dec. 31, 1973, three sisters, Josephine Carlson, Esther Samuelson and Edith Titus, and by a brother and two sisters in childhood. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wilton E. Bergstrand, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday in Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
