Lila Lehman Dahlstrom

Lila Lehman Dahlstrom, age 97, passed away on November 28, 2012. She was born on February 23, 1915 in Granger, Utah to August and Martha Albrand Lehman. Lila was married to George W. Dahlstrom on February 15, 1941 in Farmington, Utah. He passed away on October 16, 1984. They were residents of Copperton since 1941. She worked as a secretary for the government during WWII, and then worked 29 years in the medical field as an X-Ray Technician, Medical Secretary and Doctors Assistant. Lila was an active member of the American Medical Assistants Association, serving as President of the County Chapter and State President of the AMAA. She was active in the Civic Club, Study Guild and Holding Office, as President of each. Lila was the Secretary of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for many years. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities in Relief Society, Sunday School, MIA and Primary. Lila was an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple for many years where she made many friends. Lila and George (Yuk) did a lot of traveling in the USA and visited many countries in Europe, Asia and South America. They enjoyed many fishing trips together. She loved the outdoors. Lila was very faithful to her exercise routine of walking twice a day, which she attributed to her long life of good health. Lila enjoyed working in her yard, taking care of her flowers and gardening. She won many beautification awards for her home. She loved cooking, sewing and keeping a nice home. Survived by her daughter, Phyllis Fuhriman; 5 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Johnson, Cleo (Herman) Barthule, Helen (Shorland) Hunsaker; brother, Howard Lehman; very close nephew, Don Langton; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Lela Bledsoe; sisters, Rosella Bump and Mabe Langton; brothers, August, Will, Carl, John, Joe and Dan Lehman; granddaughter, Susan Reynolds; great granddaughter, Tracy Fuhriman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Copperton Ward, 8633 Hillcrest Street. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street and 1 hour prior to the services, at the church. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
