Marshall Ray, 86, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2001 in San Angelo.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Corley Funeral Home with Dr. David hale officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be John Burk, Jim Dickson, Joe Hambrick, Ed Phinney, Fred Rasmussen and Eben E. Stover. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Alexander, Bill McNabb and Frank Palmer.

Mr. Ray was born Oct. 6, 1915 in New York, Texas. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was employed with the John Deere Tractor Company, until he and his wife bought the Gulf Distributorship Company in 1962 in Marked Tree, Ark. They owned and operated the business for 18 years before retiring. He was an avid golfer during his retirement years. The couple moved to Corsicana in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Ray; sisters Violet Joslin, Ava Martin and Lisa Speegle; brothers Cecil Ray and E. C. (Mutt) Ray; and parents J.C. (Jack) Ray and Ada Reynolds Ray.

Mr. Ray is survived by his sister, Bobbie Mooneyham of Corsicana; and nine nieces and nephews.

Marshall Ray, 86 of Corsicana, Tex. died Monday, December 31, 2001 in San Angelo, Tex. Corley Funeral Home, Corsicana has charge of the services, which include visitation on January 3, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral services January 4, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Dr. David Hale officiating and burial in the Resthaven Memorial Park cemetery on 3. Highway 31.
Mr. Ray was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was employed with the John Deere Tractor Company all of his adult life, until he and his wife Marie bought the Gulf Distributorship in 1962 in Marked Tree, which they owned and operated for 18 years when they retired. They moved back to Corsicana in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Ray, sisters, Violet Joslin, Lisa Specgle and Ava Martin, mother, Ada Reynolds Ray, father, J. C. (Jack) Ray, and brothers Cecil Ray and E. C. (Mutt) Ray.

One sister, Bobbie Mooneyhan of Corsicana, Tex., and nine nieces and nephews survive him.
