Abegg, 81, of Belleville, Ill., born July 4, 1932, in Belleville, Ill., died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center, Swansea, Ill.Mr. Abegg retired from civil service as an equipment specialist with the U.S. Army Aviation & Troop Command in St. Louis, Mo. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran and a member of the IMJIN Chapter of the Korean War Veterans. Gordon enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, and traveling.He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Jocelyn L., nee Perrigen, Abegg; his parents, Joseph and Alvina, nee Hoffmann, Abegg; a brother Paul in infancy; and a sister-in-law, Florene Abegg.Surviving are two children, John (Dana) Abegg of Pasadena, Texas, and Cathy (Virgil) Langford of St. Jacob, Ill.; a grandson, Christopher Abegg of Pasadena, Texas; his brother, Allen Abegg of Connecticut; and numerous nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Gordon's family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at both Rosewood Care Center and Heartland Hospice.Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice
