Mildred Kembro Smith, 91, of Melbourne, FL passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015. Born November 17, 1923 in Geneva County, Alabama, Mildred moved to Florida in 1940.
Mildred worked for the school system as a cafeteria worker until she retired. She attended Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Melbourne, FL. She enjoyed listening to music, writing to pen pals, chatting on facebook and walking her dog, Chloe. She married Eddie Smith on April 6, 1940. They were together until he passed in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son, Grady and her daughter, Elaine.
She is survived by her older sister, Merle Reddish of Alabama; two daughters: Dorothy (Harold) Caudill of Valkaria, FL and Doris Patterson of Louisville, KY; #1Grandson, Charles (Jennifer) Caudill and granddaughters; DeAnn (Keith) Proffitt, Lisa (Jerry) Childress, Monica (Chad) Owens, Becky Sue Patterson and Cari (Patrick) Mitchell.
Great-grandchildren: Anthony Shake, Keria (John) Schmeida, Megan (Jason) Case, Cassandra Caudill, Jessica Reese, Calaeb Caudill, Connor Shake, J.T. Reese, Celia and Colton Mitchell. And six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Melbourne on Monday, March 30, 2015 with a visitation from 1-2 pm and the service to begin at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Brevard Memorial Park.
