Major League Baseball Player. Born in Blanchard, Iowa, on November 15, 1885, he was a right handed pitcher making his debut for the Cincinnati Reds on April 21, 1909. For eleven seasons, he played with the Cincinnati Reds in 1909, Brooklyn Robins (1911-14), Boston Braves (1915-18) and New York Giants in 1919 and Philadelphia Phillies in 1923. He ended his career with a record of 77 wins, 104 loss, 680 strikeouts, 93 complete games, 12 shutouts, 6 saves and a 2.99 earned run average. He died at age 70 in Los Angeles, California.
