84th Japan Prime Minister. He served from July 30, 1998 until suffering a stroke. Prior to serving as Prime Minister, Obuchi also occupied key posts as Secretary General of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, Vice President of the Liberal Democratic Party and Foreign Minister. After having his principal funeral service, attended by many foreign dignitaries, at the Nippon Budokan Hall, he now rests at Aoyama Cemetery, Minato Ward, Tokyo, Japan.
