Elaine Lucille Beaver, 78, of Eau Claire, Wis., passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at Dove Healthcare Nursing & Rehabilitation after a short illness.
Elaine was born on July 22, 1926, in Eau Claire to Carl Oscar and Martha Marie (Erickson) Knudtson. On August 5, 1946, she married Gilbert Joseph Beaver at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls, Wis. The couple resided in Eau Claire where they raised their family of six children. Elaine was briefly employed by Pressure Cooker during WWII where she met her future husband, Gib. She was a stay-at-home mom who loved to go out dancing with her husband. She also worked for Hamm’s Cheese House in Hallie for several years before her retirement. Elaine was an excellent seamstress and cook. She enjoyed playing the accordion, time spent with her family, camping and fishing. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed by her family, many relatives, friends and wonderful neighbors. Elaine was a member of St. Olaf Catholic Church.
She is survived by her six children, Debra (Douglas) Jarvar of Eau Claire, Eugene (Janet) Beaver of Eau Claire, Glory (Stephen) Hallgren of Somerset, Patrick (Karen) Beaver of Elk Mound, Julie Beaver of Eau Claire and Roger Beaver (Nancy Hagen) of Eau Claire; six grandchildren, Graham Jarvar (Angela Kronberger), Travis and Amanda Beaver, Gregory and Alexis Beaver and Lindsy Beaver; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brianna and Elsie Jarvar; brother-in-law, Joseph Beaver; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Degenhardt of Sparta, Dorothy Beaver, Alice Owen, Marcy (Robert) Schoettle all of Eau Claire, Donna Zagar of West Bend and Phyllis Knudtson of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert; brothers, Gilbert (infant), Romaine (Florence) and LaVern Knudtson; sister, Elinor Beaver; in-laws, Alfred Degenhardt, Arthur Beaver, James Owen, Oscar and Evelyn Fricke and John Zagar; and mother-in-law, Katheryn (Frank) Beaver.
A funeral service will be held for Elaine at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2005, at Prock Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Dhein officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
