David Magness, retired employee of Puget Sound Timber company died at Seattle, Wash., July 26 at the age of 72 years. Funeral services were held from McMinnville Funeral Home Inc. July 29 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rhodes of Hopewell United Brethren church officiating.
Magness, son of A. Porter Magness and Amelia Davidson, was born at Wheatland September 10, 1874, where he lived for 50 years moving to Seattle, Wash., 20 years ago. Interment was in Hopewell cemetery.
Surviving relatives are his widow, Theodocia; sons, Dalton of Dayton, Edwin, William, Porter and Millard, all of Roseburg; daughters, Mrs. Mae Bear of McMinnville, Verda Matson of Barstow, Calif.; a brother, Dr. C.P. Magness, Rt. 1, Salem; sisters, Mrs. Virginia Parker of Eugene, Mrs. Gertrude Dryden, Rt. 1, Salem, Mrs. Maud Longcore, Portland, Mrs. Edna McKee of Jefferson.
