HAUSER - Sara Elizabeth, age 95, on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in Zelienople, Pa., formerly of Forest Hills, Pittsburgh; Youngstown, Ohio; New Kensington; Bedford; and Boswell, Pa. Born in Johnstown, Pa., on Nov. 8, 1910, the daughter of Martin L. and Elizabeth C. (Hamer) Rhoads. Preceded in death by her parents; her sister, V. Glenn Rhoads; her brothers, Art Aral, Harry W., Donald L., John M. and Luke H. Rhoads; son-in-law, Nathan Trygstad; and Sara's husband, the Rev. Ellwood L. Hauser. She is survived by her children (and their spouses), William L. (Patricia) of Churchill; Robert E. of Port Vue; John R. of Greenville, Pa.; Virginia A. Trygstad of Lake Ridge, Va.; David M. (Margaret) of North East, Pa.; her grandchildren, Lauren (Scott) Hearn, Brian (Robin) Hauser, Christopher DeMay, Heather DeMay, Gretchen Trygstad and Kyle Trygstad; her great-grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Hearn; Jacob, Molly and Brady Hauser. Mrs. Hauser was in the first class at the new Johnstown Campus of the University of Pittsburgh in 1927 and graduated from Susquehanna University in 1931. She received her master of arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1938 and taught English at Ferndale High School in the 1930s. Married and raised a family and returned to teaching in the 1960s at Churchill Area High School, after being a part-time librarian at Wilkins Junior High School. She retired in 1973 and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Forest Hills before moving to Passavant Retirement Center in Zelienople. Friends received at Wolfe Memorial Inc., Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, (412) 731-5001, Friday only, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial service at Hope Lutheran Church, Braddock Road at Ridge Ave., Saturday at 4 p.m. Interment, Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ellwood L. and Sara Hauser Scholarship Fund, Thiel College, 75 College Ave., Greenville, Pa. 16125, or Hope Lutheran Church, 513 Ridge Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15221.
