Arthur was a graduate of Woodbury High School in 1950. He retired in 2000 as an Oldsmobile Mill Wright after 50 years of service.
He was a Junior Rifle Club Instructor for the Chief Okemos Sportsman Club; and a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ernest; sister, Doris; brother-in-law, Merle Abfalter; mother-in-law, Charlotte Henry; son, Robert; daughter, Kathy; granddaughter, Megan; great grandson, Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; 4 daughters, Eva (Peter) Walacavage, Brenda (Gilbert Swartz) Allen, Ashley Shaw, Michael Hammond; 7 sons, Bruce (Mary Jo), Duane (Molly), Ernest, James (Chery), David (Penny) McWhirter, Richard Arreguin, Ryan (Breighn) Lehmann; 15 grand children; 26 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Abfalter, John (Pauline) Abfalter, Roger (Linda) Abfalter; many nieces, nephews, cousins and honorary children.
Memorial Services were held on January 19, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church, Charlotte, Michigan.
