Mrs. Gladys White Acree, daughter of the late Mr. Edward Waymon White and Mrs. Louella Beard, was born 2 Jan 1909 in Adair Co. and departed this life on 26 Mar [1989] at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She was 80 years, 2 months and 24 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Russell Smith on 7 Jan 1927 who preceded her in death on 1 Feb 1963. She later united in marriage to Mr. T.E. Acree in Oct of 1964 who survives. She is also survived by her step-mother; Mrs. Ida White of Greensburg; 3 step-children: Ray Acree of Greensburg, Margie Gorslene of Cleveland, and Dorothy Harrison of Campbellsville; 1 brother and 1 sister: Jim White of Hardyville and Mary Catherine Ham of Sheperdsville; 2 step-brothers and 2 step-sisters: Roger Stephens of Greensburg, Ada Davis of Ca., and Linburg Stephen of Shelbyville; 5 step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services for Mrs. Gladys White Acree, were conducted at 1 pm Wed. 29 Mar at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, with burial in the Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ty Clenney officiated. Pallbearers were Garvis Bishop, Milton Howard Montgomery, Grover Smith, William Bishop, Richard Shuffett and Ronnie Wilson.
