Dennis Lee McClellan, Sr., 68, of Box 1004, RD 1, Clarendon, PA, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 5, 2007.
He was born January 11, 1939 in Warren, PA to the late William Hugh McClellan and Pearl DuChaine McClellan. He grew up in Tiona, PA and has been a Warren area resident his entire life.
He was employed with the Warren State Hospital as an attendant and retired after 20 years with the former National Forge Company where he was employed in the maintenance and machine departments.
He was a member of Tiona United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree mason with the Stillwater Masonic Lodge where he was a past master. He was a member of the Warren Grotto. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman and enjoyed camping with his family, brothers and nephews. He enjoyed working and driving tractor on his son-in-laws farm in Lander.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Wanda Kipp McClellan, whom he married October 25, 1957 in Tiona, PA,; his children, Dennis McClellan, Jr., and his wife Chris, of North Warren, PA, D. Scott McClellan of Sheffield, PA, Margaret Jean Lendell and her husband Ellsworth, of Lander, PA; siblings, Barbara Allen and her husband, Ed, of North Warren, Pauline Barner of Erie, PA, Stanley McClellan, Sr and his wife, Gail, of Tiona, PA, grandchildren, Amanda McClellan of Sheffield, Kate McClellan of North Warren, David McClellan of Sheffield, Kyle Lindell of Lander and great-grandchildren, Selena, Kiara and Emily Foster, all of Sheffield, PA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Robert, William Jr., Edward McClellan, Margaret McGee, Margorie and Janice McClellan.
A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
