Born April 7, l9l5 in Maysville, Ky., Mrs. Burt was the daughter of the late Perry Johnson and Jeanetta McElfresh. She was a long-time resident of Atlanta where she was active in the local and state Garden Clubs and a member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church. Her later years were spent in Tifton and here in Cordele at the Crisp Regional Nursing Home. She died Dec. 25, 2012 at Crisp Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Burt is survived by two sons, James M. Burt, Jr. (SuSu) of Cordele and Stephen Taylor Burt (Sally) of Augusta; six grandchildren, Daphne Burt (Craig Wong), Jim Burt (Mary-Frances), Jonathan Burt, Patrick Burt (Molly), Patti Harnage, and George Jensen, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Cabana, Brandy Jensen, Ava Grace Burt, and Russell Alexandra Burt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Cameron Cabana and Isla Cabana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Burt, Sr. and a daughter, Wanda Jensen Mulligan and a grandson, Jay "Butch" Richard.
